I Just Wanted to Dry My Clothes, Not My Soul!

10 minutes before midnight, my friend texted me, she accidentally pressed wash instead of dry on her laundry.

So now she had to wait another full cycle for her clothes to finish. I laughed so hard and told her, “Just don’t fall asleep inside the washing machine!” 😂

That little moment turned into one of those random midnight talks. The kind where you start with jokes and end up talking about life.

We both admitted we’re tired, not just from work, but from everything that comes with it. The kind of tired where your brain says keep going, but your heart whispers why though?

We talked about how sometimes, we care too much. We try to fix things that aren’t even ours to fix.

We want things to be fair, we want people to grow, we want to do our best, but somewhere along the way, it feels like we’re the only ones who still care.

And that hurts in a quiet kind of way. Because when you care, you expect others to care too. But not everyone does. Some take things lightly, some don’t even notice the effort you put in.

And that’s the part that drains you, not the hard work itself, but the feeling that your effort doesn’t really matter to anyone else.

Still… maybe this is where we learn about grace. Grace isn’t about being calm all the time.

It’s about choosing not to lose yourself in the middle of the noise. It’s knowing when to care and when to let go a little.

Sometimes, in my deep thoughts, I realize ignorance really is a bliss, especially when situations are no longer in our control.

Maybe peace isn’t about fixing everything, but about learning when to step back and just breathe.

By the end of that talk, we were back to laughing about her laundry again. But deep down, we both knew we were talking about more than just clothes.

Maybe life is a lot like that, full of extra rinse cycles, people who forget to press the right button, and us trying our best to stay clean from all the mess.

At least now we know: Caring too much isn’t a weakness. It just means your heart still works even when the world feels a bit broken.
