That’s why I really dislike when people say, “What’s in a name?”

Hey, our first gift from our parents is our name and it comes with their prayers and hopes. That’s deeply meaningful.

No one truly wants to be called just hey, yo, bro, or sis all the time.

That’s also why I personally prefer to be called by my name directly, instead of adding titles like Ms., Sis, or Ma’am.

And interestingly, a study by Dale Carnegie Training (supported by modern research from Harvard Business Review, 2012) found that a person’s own name is the sweetest and most important sound in any language, it instantly grabs attention and builds connection.

In short, people light up when they hear their name (or sometimes cringe haha), but it always matters.

The thing is, our name is also our brand.

So love it. Own it. Speak it proudly.

Because hey, a name is a prayer and prayers have power. 😇
