The kind of JOY that I want

I think I want a different kind of life now.

Not necessarily an easier one.

Just one that feels more like mine.

I want the hard joy, the kind that comes after giving everything to something and finally seeing it work.

I want the sad joy, being able to sit with a difficult day without needing to escape it, knowing that even sadness is still part of being alive.

I want the exciting joy, spontaneous plans, unfamiliar places, unexpected opportunities, the kind of moments that make you think, I’m really living this.

I want the tired joy, coming home exhausted from something I chose to do, physically tired but somehow deeply satisfied.

I want the quiet joy too.

Waking up without rushing.

Having coffee somewhere beautiful.

Driving with nowhere urgent to be.

Eating something good.

Swimming until I’m tired.

Taking a trip because I want to, not because I need an excuse.

Buying something I genuinely love without feeling guilty about enjoying it.

Laughing until my stomach hurts.

Having a bad day and still knowing that tomorrow can be different.

Maybe that’s what I care about more now.

Not having a life that looks impressive from the outside.

Having a life that feels good from the inside.

Because what’s the point of making money if I never get to experience what that money can give me?

What’s the point of being successful if I’m always waiting for the next milestone before allowing myself to enjoy anything?

I don’t want to postpone my life indefinitely.

I want to work hard.

I want to make money.

I want to build things.

I want to grow.

But I also want to spend some of the life I’m building.

I want experiences.

I want freedom.

I want stories.

I want beautiful places and terrible days and unexpected adventures.

I want things that don’t necessarily make sense on a résumé but make perfect sense when I look back at my life.

Maybe that’s my version of success now.

Not just having more.

But having more moments that are actually mine.

The hard joy.

The sad joy.

The exciting joy.

The tired joy.

The peaceful joy.

All of it.

Because I don’t think we’re here just to build a life that looks successful.

We’re here to actually live it.
